Brisbane Frontrunners

By joining Brisbane Frontrunners, members agree to comply with these rules. These rules apply to participation in our events and activities, and to behaviour across our communication channels, including our Facebook group, email, social media and messaging apps. In these rules, the Committee means the Brisbane Frontrunners Management Committee.

  1. Respect - Members must treat all members, guests, volunteers, venue staff and members of the public fairly, equally and with respect and courtesy at all times, including in person and online.
  2. Behaviour - Members must behave responsibly and conduct themselves in a way that supports a safe, respectful, welcoming and inclusive environment at all group activities, events and online spaces.
  3. Harassment, Bullying and Discrimination - Members must not harass, bully, intimidate, abuse or discriminate against any person, whether in person, in writing or online. Members must report inappropriate behaviour to the Committee.
  4. Safety - Members must remain aware of their surroundings and should be mindful of the safety and wellbeing of fellow members and guests during any session or event.
  5. Risk - Running and walking are physical activities. Members should seek advice from their GP or other appropriate health professional before taking part in any event or activity. Members accept that they participate entirely at their own risk and that it is their responsibility to ensure they are fit and able to take part.
  6. Responsibility - Members acknowledge that Brisbane Frontrunners and its volunteers do not accept responsibility for injury, loss or damage arising from participation in any activity or event, except to the extent that liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
  7. Public Spaces and Venues - Members acknowledge that many activities take place in public spaces or shared venues. Members must comply with all applicable laws, venue requirements and any lawful directions given at an event.
  8. Inclusion - Members must support an inclusive environment. Brisbane Frontrunners welcomes people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, races, religions, body types and fitness levels. Members must use inclusive language and respect pronouns and chosen names. Discriminatory or exclusionary behaviour is not acceptable.

  10. Business Postings and Promotion - Members must not promote a business, service, fundraiser or other commercial interest through Brisbane Frontrunners channels, including the Facebook group, without prior approval from the Committee.
  11. Privacy - Members must respect the privacy of others. Member details, photos, screenshots or posts from group forums, including the Facebook group, must not be shared outside the group without the consent of the person involved.
  12. Misinformation - Members must not post or share misleading information, particularly where it relates to health, safety, group activities or official event information.
  13. Event Information - Members acknowledge that only the Committee may post official event details, updates or changes on behalf of Brisbane Frontrunners. Members may ask questions or share attendance-related comments, but should check with the Committee if unsure.
  14. Photography and Media - Members acknowledge that photos and videos may be taken at events for community or promotional purposes. Members who do not wish to be photographed should notify the Committee before the event and reasonable steps will be taken to respect that request.
  15. Complaints - Members should raise concerns about another member’s behaviour with the Committee so the matter can be considered appropriately. Members must not use group forums, including the Facebook group, or events to pursue complaints publicly.
  16. Spam - Members must not post repetitive, irrelevant or excessive content in group forums, including the Facebook group.
  17. Consequences - Members acknowledge that breaches of these rules may result in content being moderated or removed, and may also result in a warning, suspension, restriction from events, removal from the Facebook group or removal from membership, at the discretion of the Committee.
